Prestonwood Rotary sponsored the District 5910 Roundtable on Saturday, March 10, 2024.  Eight of our members attended and seven of our Interactors.  We served a lite breakfast and presented a PowerPoint about Prestonwood's year.
Bill Persefield back for the Win from P.E.T.S (President Elect Training Seminar) presents the banner for the 2024-2025 year - "The Magic of Rotary".  RI President-elect Stephanie Urchick celebrates the magic of Rotary. She says members create that magic with every project completed, every dollar donated, and every new member of Rotary. This theme encourages us to recognize and amplify the power of Rotary in saving lives and making a positive impact in our communities and beyond. While we may not have a magical wand, our collective efforts create transformative change. So let’s continue to weave our magic through service, fellowship, and goodwill!
INTERACT students Joshua, Karsen, and Nolan, as well as Prestonwood Rotarians, Margaret Silva and DGND Mike Callahan made the delivery of 1000 bottles of water to District PETS to assist with the building of hygiene bags.  One hundred twenty-five bags of the two hundred and fifty bags that were assembled were later delivered to the Austin Street Shelter by Mike Callahan.  The dollies did make it back to the Campbell's.
.
Mirjana Omeragic, Senior Director of Refugee Services brought an up-close look at Mosaic's Family Services and their Refugee and Family Violence Survivor Programs.  Mirjana emphasized the importance of guiding survivors of human rights abuses through support services, education, and community resources. Their programs assist with various services such as legal counsel, community education, and outreach, but also emergency and transitional housing, clothing, and feeding those in need.  Their clients are victims of family violence, trafficking, refugees, and unaccompanied minors.

Our recent "Roll 'Em Out, Move 'Em Forward" suitcase drive specifically allows those victims to reposition with dignity.  We had a successful project that perhaps we look forward to next year.

Fighting Hunger & Feeding Hope

Prestonwood members packed and delivered to a TangoTab dropoff, individual pre-packed lunch bags. During the pandemic, this was a way of safely giving back to those who were in need.  This is an ongoing program and offers each organization a chance to End Hunger one action at a time.

Providing Clean Water

Prestonwood Rotary partnered with The Rotary Club of Montego Bay to provide water containment tanks to five elementary schools in Jamacia. The tanks provide water storage that greatly assists with the daily functioning of the school including water for kitchen activities as well as the bathrooms.
